Today's pensioners are much better off

It does not take long to see on the Internet lots of resale mobile homes for sale. Some of the bigger parks have over 30 for sale. Why you might ask? In 2003 mobile home ownership took off big time in Spain and in 2004 and 2005 hundreds of new mobile homes made their way to Spain. The Pound at the time was worth 1.49 Euros in 2004 and many pensioners worked out their finances on that value. What they could not have seen coming was a huge world recession starting in 2008 resulting in their savings earning less with slashed interest rates, their pound in their pocket getting less Euros in Spain with the rate going down to 1 to 1 at one time. In short all their finances were in turmoil.

The result, many have had to put their beloved mobile homes up for sale in the hope that the sale funds boost their savings which have taken a hammering since 2008 when the recession started. They are in a catch 22 position, not as much money coming in as they thought and spending their savings quicker than they expected.

Good news for today's pensioners. They have the luxury of knowing that interest rates can only go up and so what they are getting now in interest on their savings will increase. They also know that the value of the Pound over the next few years will also increase based on all the economist reports. Any person who is able to retire to Spain now and live in a mobile home based on the interest rates now and the value of the Pound right now is very lucky indeed. They are now able to buy a resale mobile home well under the book price. They are able to make offers knowing that any serious offer will be considered.

Even the very best mobile home parks now have resale mobile homes on their park simply down to the finances of the residents as a result of the world crisis. The quality parks have managed to keep numbers relatively low with measures such as no price increases whatsoever. Parks that are not doing well or are still charging top site fees in excess of 400 Euros a month have ended up with lots of homes up for sale and have lots of stressed residents hoping to sell their home one day.

With so many homes on so many parks where does one start. First question to ask any park before looking at any home is what are the site fees and what are the plot sizes. You can pay 350 Euros a month for a 110 mtr plot and live on top of your next door neighbour or you can pay 330 Euros a month for a 200 sq mtr plot and enjoy a residential style park. Next question is do you want to retire to a camping site or a dedicated residential mobile home park. Finally the question to ask is how many homes are for sale on the park and how cheap is the lowest. If you are told there are lots of homes and you can but one very cheap then you know you will have trouble selling the home at a later date if you ever want to.

This webpage is not about bad news, it is good news for those who can retire to Spain, life is really good here. The weather is of course great and as all around the world there is talk about the fact that there is a crisis in the Eurozone or crisis in the UK and USA, provided what you are getting right now is more than enough to enjoy life in Spain then things can only get better. A good example is if your income is in excess of  700 Euros a month now with what will you be getting in pensions and savings, what will you be getting  when interest rates and the value of the Pound verses the Euro improves? Better still as sales of resale mobile homes takes off again after the world crisis and residents in trouble now are no longer in trouble, the values of resale mobile homes could even increase which in truth should never happen. In short, more potential good news.
